A working group on wildfires in Washington desires the state Legislature to contemplate requiring insurers to internally observe cases through which wildfire threat materially contributes to a coverage nonrenewal, cancellation or eligibility willpower—and to higher clarify wildfire threat scores.
The Wildfire Mitigation and Resiliency Requirements Work Group, co-chaired by Washington Insurance coverage Commissioner Patty Kuderer and Commissioner of Public Lands Dave Upthegrove, delivered its last report and suggestions to the Legislature this week.
The report recommends establishing a voluntary grant program to assist residential properties resist wildfire loss.
