JEROME, Fla. (AP) — Florida wildlife officers have killed three black bears in southwest Florida following a deadly assault on a person and a canine a day earlier, officers stated Tuesday.
DNA samples from the bears and the assault scene have been despatched to a Gainesville lab for testing to find out if any of the animals killed 89-year-old Robert Markel close to his residence early Monday, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee stated in a press release. The assault occurred in a rural space east of Naples, simply south of Huge Cypress Wildlife Administration Space.
Wildlife officers secured the world and set a number of traps and cameras Monday evening, officers stated. Out of an abundance of warning, officers urged the general public to stay vigilant and keep away from the world.
